CERMET inserts
Cermet inserts are technically advanced cutting tools used in a variety of manufacturing processes. Cermet is a composite material that combines ceramic particles - usually titanium or aluminum nitrides - with metals such as nickel or molybdenum. This material has properties ideal for cutting tools including high temperature resistance, chemical stability and excellent wear resistance.
The 'indexable' nature of these inserts means they offer multiple cutting edges, thereby increasing service life and reducing costs. Cermet inserts are available in a variety of shapes, sizes and geometries to ensure optimal performance in different materials and applications.
Excellent heat resistance makes cermet inserts particularly well-suited for high-speed machining and machining of materials that generate high temperatures. In addition, they provide a clean and precise finish, making them a preferred choice for manufacturing processes where a high surface finish is required.
